Superior Network Capacity and Efficiency
Thanks to the synergy of OFDMA+SCDMA, beamforming, DCA (Dynamic Channel Allocation), StreamStar4 is an access system with a much better performance than similar systems. With SDMA, StreamStar4 delivers up to 30 Mbps per sector, up to 180 Mbps and up to 18,000 users per cell site.
- Superior to OFDMA: Pure OFDMA has no inter-cell interference rejection and overall system capacity is severely reduced in dense or spectrum-limited deployments. SCDMA + OFDMA hybrid airlink does not have this issue.
- Superior to CDMA: Systems based on pure CDMA (CDMA2000, EVDO) - have a notorious "cell breathing" problem. When numbers of users in a cell increase, the cell "breathes", it's coverage shrinks. Our SCDMA + OFDMA hybrid airlink does not have this "cell breathing" problem and coverage is always uniform.
- SDMA multiplies the effective system capacity - Up to 30 Mbps in 5 MHz channel (6 b/s/Hz).
- Beamforming technology reduces leakage and waste of radio energy. This results in a much more efficient coverage and capacity usage.
- Dynamic Channel Allocation (DCA) is also an integral part of the air interface. The Base Station dynamically assigns channels based on real-time channel and interference conditions, and always assigns the best performing channels.
Thanks to smart antenna and hybrid air interface technologies, our systems' expansion can be virtually unlimited. Extra gain offered by beamforming ensures that subscriber CPE can run at high modulation orders even at the cell edges - maximizing performance and efficiency.
