System Components
A StreamStar network is comprised of three main elements: Access Units (Base Station), Subscriber Units (Customer Premises) and the Element Management System (Provider's Operations Center)
Access Units
StreamStar Access Units are powerful, modular point to multipoint distribution nodes that satisfy the various requirements and deployment scenarios faced by carriers, network operators, service providers and enterprises.
Coupled with sector antennas, StreamStar Access Units become base stations featuring true non-line-of-sight (NLOS) coverage, multiple frequency bands, and high reliability ensuring delivery of Internet and IP services over vast, densely populated areas.
Subscriber Units
SreamStar Subscriber Units serve as the Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) in a StreamStar network. Deployed in areas covered by a StreamStar base station, Subscriber Units provide multi-megabit, multi-service IP conectivity to residential, corporate and enterprise end users. StreamStar Subscrber Units are designed for rapid installation, reliable outdoor operation and long range.
Element Management System
No wireless network is complete without effective management tools and as a fully integrated solution, StreamStar comes with its own, centralized, scalable Element Management System. All aspects of a StreamStar network are centrally managed, monitored and logged using a graphical, point-and-click software system and database that provides deep insight into every corner of the system.
The EMS allows operators to focus on their business assisted by the powerful software tools:
-
FCAPS model (Fault, Configuration, Acounting, Performance, Security)
-
Complete element database and deployment tools
- Windows-based, GUI software (NT/2K/XP/2003/Vista)
- Monitoring, logging, mapping and provisioning
